The European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology is organized by EuropaBio with high-level contributions by the European Commission, this year from 30 September to 2 October in association with bio.be. EFIB is the marketplace for the European biobased economy aiming to attract over 1,000 stakeholders to increase engagement between industry, policy makers and stakeholders.

Marine biotechnology is featured at EFIB through a dedicated  workshop with two invited speakers from Micro B3 partners:

  • Dr Renzo Kottmann from MPI Bremen presents the role of IT and genomics innovation for industrial use of marine bioresources and
  • Thomas Greiber from IUCN, which is also partner to the related project PharmaSea, legal aspects of  accessing  marine genetic resources.
